Could gout in any way be associated to haemochromatosis?
Chrysler300TNT440 asked on Mon, 16 May, 2011
I notice that sometimes my gout flares up when i take multivitamins on a regular basis and also when i eat a lot of salad mostly spinach. The only thing that i can find that these two things have in common is a high iron content.
Tony replied on Mon, 16 May, 2011
Gout is related to your body inability to process "PURINE", a very rich protein that releases Uric Acid. So avoid "Rich foods" such as organ meats, Caviar, Anchovies, etc. Eating dark Veggies does not lead to excess iron in your body (hematochromatosis)

Chrysler300TNT440,
Briefly NO! Only by adding the word ‘psuedo.’ Gout has been described as a “Form of arthritis caused by too much uric acid in the blood, damaging, joints, tendons, and other tissues.” It is different from "pseudo gout" in that it is not a symptom of a deadly genetic disease, as is the case with the "pseudo gout" of haemochromatosis, which is the number one genetic disorder while, paradoxically, it is also the one that is most often dismissed as "rare." Another psuedo gout is chondrocalcinosis. If you suffer with gout, you really ought to check on the foods that are NOT suitable. You mention spinach – this is on the NO list! You might also check on the contents of the multivitamins that you are taking as multivitamins typically combine a very wide range of ingredients, most of which are not needed as supplements. You would be advised to ask for a check by your doctor to confirm or exclude gout as the cause of your symptoms.
